  RE-POINTED 2026-09-08 from 601fc98 to this commit. The first attempt failed in
  smoke after the base had already built: an apostrophe inside a single-quoted
  exec_test body closed the string, so the body truncated and its tail ran on the
  CI runner instead of inside the image (shellcheck had flagged it as SC2289 a day
  earlier and the red lint job went unread). Nothing had consumed the original tag
  — no v1.8.14 image was published — so the tag moves rather than burning a
  version. The base image base-a365dd24de21 is content-addressed over
  Dockerfile.base + rootfs/ + entrypoints + the toolkit SHA, none of which
  changed, so this run reuses it and skips the 46-minute rebuild.

  Contents:

  • mempalace-toolkit e45f6b4: deriveClosed(), so a terminal reply that CLOSES an
    ask this device sent is finally announced. status=applied made those replies
    structurally invisible to a status=open query; nine sat unannounced.
  • The L0-L4 context ladder documented for operators (pi-toolkit README), agents
    (pi-extensions skill, refreshed into the baked fallback) and the global
    AGENTS.md. L0-L2 exist in pi-task, L4 is fork's only behaviour, L3 is built by
    nothing.
  • Test fixes: node major is asserted rather than printed; the agent-browser
    smoke guard asserts execution; and shell lint now GATES the release from one
    shared script (scripts/lint-shell.sh) instead of failing fifty minutes in.
